| Vermont Wood Products Industry-wide Through a grant to the VT Council for Rural Development from the US EDA, members of the VT Wood Products Industry have an opportunity to be part of an industry-wide on-line catalog, called the Essential Buyers Guide, that will enable them to showcase a sampling of their products. The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association is leading the data collection effort, Cabot Creamery is developing and hosting the Essential Buyers Guide (modeled on their successful Best of Vermont website), and the VT Wood Products Marketing Council is providing guidance to the project through their Marketing Advisory Committee. Information you furnish will also be used to develop other industry-wide promotional initiatives such as the Vermont Forest Heritage Trail (a guide to factory tours and open studios) and participation in national and regional trade shows; and for other Vermont wood products marketing efforts. Tips for participating in the Vermont Wood Products Industry-wide Data Collection Project If you would like to preview a copy of the data entry forms before you start (recommended); or if you would prefer to complete the data entry by hand and return the forms by mail (VWMA, PO Box 196, Poultney, VT 05764) or FAX (802-287-4285), download the forms here. During the data entry, you will be asked to provide descriptions, photos, dimensions, and website addresses for a maximum of ten products. You will also have an opportunity to describe the visitor amenities that exist at your facility and any special events that you offer to the public. Make sure that you have gathered all of this information before you begin the data entry. You will need to use the alpha-numeric Company ID (for example 9999WOODWORK) and password that was assigned to you via email or postcard in order to begin on-line data entry. You will also need your Company ID once you are in the data entry screens and when you submit product photos. If you did not receive a Company ID or you lost the one you were sent, you may request one. Or call Kathleen on 802 287 4284 IMPORTANT - The third party data entry tool that is being used to collect company and product data uses browser cookies (a small text file stored on your computer) to track your progress during data entry and to keep you logged into the data entry site. Cookies must be enabled to use the data entry site. If cookies are blocked by your web browser or another program on your PC, the data entry tool will repeat the questions from the first page while numbering the questions as if they were new.
