Vermont Wood Products Marketing Council
2005 Second Annual Design Competition
The Council hosted its Second Annual Design Competition and awarded prizes in eight categories of products, including: production furniture, custom/studio furniture, production turnings, custom turnings, architectural millwork, production woodenware, custom woodenware, and other/miscellaneous items. Judges for the competition included two architects, a construction specifier, wood shop instructor, home magazine editor, and interior designer.
All entries were pieces designed and made in Vermont by Vermont woodworkers. The list of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for 2005 may be downloaded.
A $500 cash prize was offered by Mark Lorenzo from the National Wildlife Federation to be shared by winners who used certified wood. The winning pieces were:
- Vermont Box Collection by Bob Gasperetti
- Ruffle Floor Lamp by Charles Shackleton
- Candle Sconce by Charles Shackleton
- Fireplace Bellows by Charles Shackleton
- Library Chair by Bruce Beeken and Jeff Parsons
